We decided to take our house off the market. Several factors played into this... tired of trying to keep it up just in case and it's been at least 6 weeks since anyone has come, we are getting so close to baby time that it would be caotic to try and move right now, and financially it's for the best right now.
Are we sad? A little. But I think we've accepted it just fine. We knew when we put it on the market that the chances were slim. And I think Nathan and I forget how young we are. It would be nice to have a much bigger house with a big bonus room, guest bedroom, and rooms for all of our family. But I'm 23 and most people our age don't have all those things. Our house is nice and we feel blessed to be in it. We just wish it was bigger.
Right now all our money is pretty much tied up in paying for the baby. We are getting ready to do his room soon, paying the delivery fees, and all the stuff we will need. But after that, we plan to start doing a little more to our house little by little. We would like to have some patio furniture, a grill to replace the one that broke, and add some more decortaions. We knew we wanted to try selling after two years and we never really felt like this was "home". We didn't really decorate the main rooms or put much up on the walls because we kept looking towards what we would want in the new house. Well we have no idea when that will be now so we want to start making this our home!
Aw, I'm sorry it didn't work out like you'd hoped. Sounds like you guys are making adjustments to it though, and finding an alternate plan. Those silver linings CAN be found, right?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry. I know you were looking forward to selling and getting into a new house.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys have decided to make the best of it though. I understand it's disapointing, but like you said you guys still have so much time :)
Matthew and I have talked about looking for a new house or building a new house and selling ours. We feel like we've outgrown our house now, but we're waiting. Because like you said we're young and if we wait long enough we'll be able to get what we really want. I say it's probably smart to wait right now.
