Yesterday evening a friend of mine and I went to get a pedicure. It was the first pedicure I have had in a year! Last time I went was when I took my mother in law for her birthday last September. (and before that it had been 9 months) Very different from before I got married and had real bills. haha I throughly enjoyed it and hope I don't wait a year to go again! After that we went to grab something to eat. We decided on Zaxbys. We ate our food and just talked. We ended up staying until they closed! It was so nice to sit and have "girl talk" for several hours. This is a girl I've known for years but just recently reconnected with and each time I spend with her, I enjoy it more and more. I just wish she lived closer. I had told Nathan we would probably be home by 8, but it was a few hours later. Thankfully I have a husband that was happy for me instead of being upset.
I waited too long to get away from Addison in the beginning I think. It took me a long time to realize how important it is to have some time alone or with girls. It's rare for me to go off alone and sometimes that just means I go grocery shopping after dinner or on the weekend so I can do it alone. Isn't it amazing what we consider a treat after being a stay at home mom? But this is one thing I would encourage all new mothers who stay at home full time to do. It's amazing how refreshed you feel after just a few hours of being alone! As mothers we spend our days caring for our family and putting them first, as it should be, but in order to avoid burnout, we have to take time to get recharged. That is what I did last night. Nathan is leaving town tomorrow for 6 days, will be home for two nights, and then leaves for 3 more. So this was my chance to charge my batteries and I am so glad because I'm going to need it!
