Last year Addison met Santa for the first time when she was 7 months old. Didn't really know what to think and kinda too young to be scared. This year when we were going to take her, I was a little nervous about how she would react. I had bought a Micky Mouse video that had Santa so we could see him and talk about Santa beforehand. I also taught her that Santa says, "Ho! Ho! Ho!". (Pretty cute if you ask me!) When we saw Santa at the mall, I tried to make a big deal about him and act really excited. When it was our turn, I took Addison over to meet him and we sat down next to him. She was nervous, but then warmed up a little and allowed him to hold her. She wasn't super happy in the picture, but she wasn't crying and screaming either. So we consider this a success!

I'm glad that I don't have to "talk" about Santa yet or explain him. Honestly, I'm not sure how to go about this. My parents never allowed us to believe in Santa so I don't even know what say. Part of me doesn't want them to believe and part of me does. The only reason I don't want them to believe because I do not believe in lying and I don't want them to be crushed when they find out he didn't actually come to their house. I don't take it seriously like some Christians do. To me it's just fun for the kids and as long as we also teach them the TRUE meaning of Christmas, it can just be a fun part of it. I'm glad I have a year until I have to come up with the answers her little mind comes up with. I'll probably go with more of a version of the truth about the real Saint Nick years ago and some of the mystery. Who knows! Knowing me...I'll research it and read about it because that's what I do! :)
