Hayden's Surprise!!!

Ok, Ok!! The shower went great and I know you are all wanting to see what big surprise I had for my sister.

After all of her presents were open, I had a card for her. She read the card aloud which said, "Dear Jess, I know this wasn't your ideal plan and you are very nervous. But I want you to know that you are not alone. I am here if you need anything! I love you so much and I'm proud of you! No matter how hard the days get, I wanted Hayden to have a safe and special place to come home to. So that is why our gift to you is..."

And she flipped over to see pictures of...

We bought EVERYTHING you see here. All furniture, mattress for crib and changing table and all the decorations. She had no clue! She was tearing up when she read the card and then she saw the pictures and cried. She was blessed and that is exactly what I wanted to do for her. After watching her reaction I looked around the room and saw that half the room was wiping away tears also. I call that an added bonus! :)

I know it's going to be hard and that she is scared but doesn't realize how hard it actually will be, but I'm so proud of her already. I want to be there for her and help. Nathan wants to be involved and be a role-model for this little boy. (I told you he was pretty great!) This was my idea, but I couldn't have done it without Nathan's support.

My father is making a white chest to match for Hayden and I have some ideas of things to put on the walls to make it cute but I wanted to wait for her input. So it isn't quite finished, but it's close!

  1. Jen, she is so blessed to have you. You are going to be a wonderful auntie! It's a lot of fun being an aunt to a little boy!

The room is too cute. Is this at your moms or your house? How did you ever keep it a suprise from her?

  2. Thanks Patti!!

Yes, they will both be living at my moms house for now. I asked her to babysit Addison so we could run errands and I did tell her that there was a surprise at her house so she could go home. She spent the night with me.

By the way, you have great taste. Chase has many of those same items! :-)

  4. Wow, that took some planning to pull that off but I'm so glad you did. For the record, I had tears in my eyes too when I read the post and saw the pictures. Great job! I know it will really help her to get off on the right foot.
