Not too much longer after Addison was born I got back to my original weight before pregnancy. One good thing about having a fussy newborn that doesn't sleep...you have very little time to eat and she had to be in constant motion! haha But this summer I put on 15 pounds! So I have been slowly getting it off and haven't had the best of luck. I just really longed to go to the gym again. I used to go a lot before we got married and then a little while I was pregnant. I started back in the Spring of this year but in one month, Addison came down with a cold and two stomach viruses. (both the next day after being in their nursery) So that to me is NOT worth it! I got to thinking about how I could make it work and to me, there was only one option. I was going to have to get up super early so I could be back before Nathan has to get ready for work and leave by 7. I am not an early morning person unless we are leaving town on some sort of fun trip. I wake up slowly and have become addicted to having coffee first thing. I am not in the mood to talk right away. (In college I had a roommate for about two months who woke up early and would start talking to me the minute she saw my eyes open! Real nice girl, but I needed time to wake up. So I used to lay in bed for about 15 minutes with my eyes closed so I could have a few minutes of quiet!)
Monday I woke up at 4:30am so I could be at the gym at 5. It was so hard! I spent the entire night waking up every 20 minutes because I was so afraid of turning off my alarm in my sleep. (happens to me a lot) So I hardly slept and when the alarm went off, I kinda laughed because I was so tired. Once I got to the gym I was good to go. I did it again last night. I tossed and turned and constantly sat up to check the clock and my phone. But it was a little easier to get out of bed. One thing for sure is I can't keep getting such little sleep and getting up at 4:30am!
The plan is to go Monday and Wednesday morning at 5. And then Saturdays sometime between 7-8. I'm also trying to eat a lot better. And sometimes having a husband that isn't a fan of healthy food means just eating a smaller portion of whatever we have for dinner. I am resisting the urge to weigh until the end of the week but I had better have lost at least 1 pound for this to be worth it! It's hard enough to get up so early during the week, but Saturdays are my only days that Nathan gets up with Addison so I can sleep in...well until about 8. haha But Sundays are his days.
I'm shocked that you have gained 15 lbs. You definitely don't look it (in fact, I'll take what you look like now). Good luck in reaching your goals. I'm pretty sure I couldn't do the 4:30am wake up--I would just have to go after the kids went to bed. :) Rooting for you!
