Maybe I'm just one of those moms who thinks their child is the greatest, prettiest, smartest, cutest, and so on. But I really think Addison is advanced for her age! She does things that I can't believe she knows. Such as...
Addison found a set of keys and walked over to our door knob and tried to put it in the hole and when it didn't do anything, she went to a different door knob. Not huge to you, but it really surprised us because we don't use our keys in the door except for every once and a blue moon. Addison is always with me and when we come home I drive into the garage, leave me keys in the jeep, and go inside because we keep that door unlocked unless we are out of town or at night. So how she knew that I have no clue. She had to have seen it along the way.
I read that at the end of 15 months babies should be able to stack 4 or 5 blocks on top of each other. When Addison was 14 months, she stacked 10!
She took her Bear and babydoll last night and were making them smooch each other because two weeks ago Nathan did that! She remembered him doing that from that long ago.
Just a few minutes ago I was asking Addison what sounds do certain animals make and she was answering some of them and laughing at me at others. And then I asked, "Addison what does mommy say?" and my smart girl pointed one finger and shook it up and down and said, "No.No.No." hahaha That inspired me to write this blog!
Addison learns very easily and watches things that we do. I LOVE that she is smart and in fact it is one of the prayers that I prayed over her every day when she was in my tummy. But I can't believe how smart she is at times. Other moms at mommy group keep telling me they can't believe Addison is only a couple weeks older than their babies because she seems so much older! And in a way that makes me sad, because she is growing up too quickly and becoming a big girl. I love watching her grow, but it makes me a little sad that my tiny peanut is now 16 months old! Guess I just need to have another baby soon. :)
Kids are like SPONGES at this age, which is sort of scary because they are picking up EVERYTHING we say and do! Camden does the same thing with the keys and I am not really sure how he KNOWS that but he started trying to unlock the door with the keys when he was 12 months old! Derek and I used to laugh at him, but it was awesome how fast he picked it up! I think Addison is a very BRIGHt little girl though!
