Trading Luxury for Practicality
For Mother's Day I had asked Nathan not to spend much money on a gift. I wanted something that I could cherish and that took his time and effort. My husband is one of those men that doesn't usually put much thought into a gift. He goes in a store, picks something I like, hands out the money, and he's done. I'm lucky to get a card. He almost always buys me really nice gifts, like my Coach purse and diamond necklace, but I tried to explain to him that I would much rather have something special this time than something he spent money on. Nathan is a very man and not very sentimental so for him to do something that actually took time and thought, would actually mean more to me. He did it! Well kinda. haha He created a PowerPoint for me that was very sweet and made me cry! And then he told me that he wanted me to go and get a massage. Which was spending money, but I was still excited. However, in the back of my mind I had kind of decided not to go and get one because we are trying to save money right now. But he recently reminded me that I should go and get it. Well, today I saw this workout dvd set that I was really interested in so I got online and checked them out. I wouldn't have spent the $80 until I realized I was about to spend that much on a massage and tip anyways. So I asked Nathan if he would mind if I ordered them instead of the massage. They should be here in a week! I am so excited!! I was walking until it started raining and then these few weeks out of town we ate out every day. I really miss not being able to go to the gym and this is going to be the closest things. I'll have to let you know how they work out! (No pun intended...)
