Girlfriend Needed
I've been living in Thomasville for about two and half years this time and I still don't really feel connected that much. Lately, it's been hard for me. Nathan is my best friend and we get along really well and have a great time together. (Especially since we really don't have any friends here so all our free time is alone together.) We have friends that live in North Georgia, Americus, and one in Tallahassee, but nothing really local. Nathan would like to have friends, but he isn't super sad about not having any. It's different for girls though. We are so relational that we need to feel more connected. I haven't had a best friend that is a girl since I left Americus. I still talk to my old friends and miss them, but I need someone local. I want someone that I can go to the mall with, have girl talk, get our nails done together, lay out by a pool, go out to eat for dinner together. The hardest part seems to be finding people that are like us. Nathan is such a mature man that he has a hard time connecting with people his age. We are Christians who believe in following the Bible, but we don't believe there is anything wrong with having a beer also. (or Margarita! haha) And it seems most people we meet are either in church 5 days a week, or in the bars drunk all weekend. Isn't there a middle ground? I am shy by nature. It takes me a little bit to warm up to people and then I am really outgoing. So sometimes people think I'm stuck up, but I'm not. Lately I've been trying to break out of my shell and meet people. Nathan embraces my girlyness, but he can't be everything I need in those areas. And it's important to have times apart. I need girl friends and I'm hoping that the Lord helps me find some soon!

I hear you girl! Josh and I have been living in Valdosta for three and a half years and we still don't have any good friends. I have 1 really good friend, but we don't have the same beliefs, she isn't married, and she is about to move. So over the last 3 1/2 years its been pretty much me and Josh! I'm praying for some good married friends for Josh and I to hang out with. We have our Young marrieds couple, but they are involved big time in church and don't drink or anything (which we also like to enjoy when we go out). Praying you find someone. Too bad we live so far away..haha!
ReplyDeleteI wish I lived closer to both you guys! haha..I miss my friends and I feel the same way. Even though I have some new friends in ATL, I haven't met anyone I've been able to bear my soul with and also have fun doing things...
ReplyDeletePraying God gives us all someone we need!
I think I can solve this problem for everyone. Patti and Kayla need to move back home.
ReplyDeleteHa! If only it were that easy! This is obviously a desire of your heart. Keep praying and asking God to bring you some friends. He will in time. Sometimes, we all go through "dry" seasons of having no friends near by. Saying a prayer for all three of you sweet ladies!
