Welcome Home Titus!!

When I was young, I remember being at a town fair kind of thing and seeing a couple with a pair of really big dogs. My mother told me they were Great Danes. I thought they were so cool! For the past several years I wanted a Great Dane, but didn't really think that I would get one. When I first mentioned the idea to Nathan a few years ago he thought I was crazy. And after a lot of research, he agreed that they were really great dogs and if I wanted a large breed, there was no other choice. It wasn't long after that we named him. (Yes we are kinda crazy like that...but we already had names for three kids so it seemed fitting. haha) Our original plan was to buy a Great Dane as a wedding present to each other, but because our house wasn't finished, we had to turn one down and then another because Addison was about to be born. Now after a long wait...our precious puppy is here!

Titus came home to live with us Monday afternoon. The first day he was very scared, but that is understandable. We are very thankful that our breeder already set the foundation for potty training. Titus has only had a couple of accidents and they weren't usually his fault. Last night he didn't even pee in his puppy crate. (Which by the way, shouldn't even be called that because it's HUGE!) Addison already likes him a lot and Titus likes that she is on all fours like him. The cats are adjusting to him real well for just a short time. Titus was one of the largest in his litter, but is actually small for a Great Dane his age. There were 14 puppies in his litter so they all got a small start. But he has a healthy appetite so we are sure he will be be growing in now time! Titus loves to cuddle! He is such a sweet puppy. He is constantly trying to sit in our laps. (Which is a lot of fun when Addison wants to sit in my lap at the same time.) Sunday is Titus' first puppy class so I am hoping that goes well. Although I know having a baby and a puppy will keep me really busy, we have been wanting a dog for a long time and are very excited that our boy is finally here!
