Update on sleeping

Yesterday after I posted my blog at 4am, I went back to bed. About 5 minutes later, the screaming started again. Then stopped, then started. Finally I had had enough. I grabbed a small night light in the hall and put it in her room and talked to her about it, prayed with her again, and got her settled. She went to sleep and slept until 7:30. So I talked about it with Nathan last night and he said he didn't mind after I explained about some of the reading I had done that afternoon and how so many people we knew had been through the same thing. He agreed it wasn't a big deal if she had a night light. So we said we would try it. I showed her the night light when I was putting her to bed and she went to bed without any fussing. She slept all night!! She woke up at 5:45 for milk and I was so out of it Nathan heard her before I did because he was getting ready for the gym so he gave her milk and she went back to sleep and slept until 8!! (That's real late for her!) I'm so thankful because missing out on sleep every night was wearing this preggo down.

We started out with zero sleep crutches, except her thumb which she started using the day she was born. But around 7 months she received "B" and it was instant love and she slept with him. Then about 18 months we gave her a fan because we were so tired of her waking up to every little noise. A few months ago she decided that one of her blankets that just happened to always be in her bed was "special". So why not a light too?! haha For a couple that started out saying no sleep crutches...I think we have them all covered now! :)

  1. That's great she slept ok! Logan would sleep with a whole zoo of animals if we let him! He calls them his friends. We have narrowed it down to only 2 now! Haha

  2. Like you said, you pick your battles. The more children you have, the more you learn which battles are really important to you and which ones you just thought were. I've learned that the hard way a few times now. :)
