And I'm coming!!! Oh I'm so excited! I wasn't I guess super excited until recently just because we've had so much going on and so many things ahead of it but now I'm getting positively giddy about it! It's hard to explain and strange to some, but Texas just feels like home and where my heart belongs. I was born in San Antonio and most all of my mom's family still lives there or in the surrounding areas so we visited a lot growing up. I remember being in about middle school and visiting my grandmother there and sitting outside in the morning just thinking and taking it all in. I felt at peace. I always thought I would move there. I had kinda thought that if I graduated college and really didn't have any reason to stick around here that I would move out there and start my life. Of course I met Nathan the second day of school and the rest is history! haha And I'm so glad that is how it worked out! :) I don't know if I'll ever live in San Antonio, Fort Worth, Dallas, or Austin but for now I will be content just to visit!
We hadn't planned this trip until a couple of months ago when we realized it was my grandmother Anne's 80th birthday! So we wanted to go out to celebrate her birthday with as much family as possible. We leave this Friday and will be gone for 10 days. We found a house-sitter to stay at our house and watch all of our animals. I'm so thankful! That was just too long to leave Titus in a kennel. We are driving out there and stopping to spend the night to break it up some and then spending the night coming back. Either way it's still 28+hours in the car with a toddler so this should be interesting! We wanted to spend most of the time just relaxing and spending time with my family. I am taking Nathan to this amazing bbq place near Austin one day which he is stoked about. And no trip would be complete without spending time downtown, walking the river walk, and lots of the best Mexican food money can buy!
Did I mention I'm excited?!
I kind of know how you feel. My mom's family is from Idaho. I wasn't born there, but we did live there when I was younger and then when we moved to GA, we visted probably twice a year and stayed for weeks and weeks. I feel like part of my childhood was in Idaho (well it was)! I still remember so much about it, and with my mom from there and having family there it will and is a special place. I want to take Josh there so bad, and I know one day we will, but the few thousand miles definitely causes a problem. :)
