I said end of May beginning of June right?

haha I know that I told you we would wait until July to start working on the kids rooms. (Wow that sounds neat to write!) But we aren't waiting. I had every intention on waiting another month or so but then Nathan and I started talking about it some more and I mentioned that I think it might be best to hold off buying her the bedroom furniture I wanted for her room in the new house. We would have to store the furniture for the guest bedroom if we did that. Nathan is always up for holding off on spending money so he liked the idea! Nathan said he thought the best thing was to just move Addison into what was the guest room and have the baby room be her old room. I agreed it was for the best but said I wanted to make sure she had plenty of time to get adjusted before Weston arrived. With her starting school in August and probably a brother in September, I just don't want to overwhelm her. So he said go ahead and order her something and we will start now. So I did! It was hard to find a simple, girly theme that seemed age appropriate because I needed a queen size and most of them come in twin or full. But I found one on sale that I liked by JoJo Designs. (Did I mention my husband loves saving money? *wink*)

We picked out the paint color on Sunday and Addison's Papa came to help Nathan move all the furniture out. We started taping and then last night we took the doors off the closet, the shelves down, and finished the taping. Tonight we start painting! I'm nervous, but excited about it. This is probably mine and Nathan's first real project together in almost 6 years. I'm sure to most people painting a bedroom doesn't seem impressive at all, but we are kinda snobbish in a way. We are more likely to just pay someone to do it then do it ourselves. So I'm proud of us! And if this goes well, we will be doing Weston's room in another month or so. And his room will be adding a border stripe and hand painted mural I want to do!

Just so you know...the color of the new room is called Fairy-Tale Pink. Isn't that perfect? :) I plan on doing a light purple in the new house so I'm excited about doing this light pink color. Nathan asked if I wanted to do pink or green because those were two options out of the bedspread. It was an easy choice. Addison will probably be the only little girl I ever have and I have plenty of time to look forward to greens and blues. I love embracing my girl and I love that she seems so naturally girly!

  1. What fun to paint a room! Charlie HATES painting, but I don't mind it so much. It's the least expensive way to make a BIG difference in a room.
