Addison has developed a bad habit in the last few weeks. Funny, sassy, but also rude. Lately when a stranger or someone she doesn't know well comes up to talk to Addison, she closes her eyes. She doesn't say anything, she just closes her eyes and pretends they aren't there until they walk away. While in Montgomery Addison and I got in the elevator and there was a middle aged couple in there. The lady said, "Wow, aren't you a pretty little girl? You are such a doll!" From, the moment the lady turned to Addison and started talking, she closed her eyes. And she kept them closed until we got off the elevator and into the lobby when her daddy started talking to her. Of course I apologized to the woman and the lady just laughed. But she has continued to do this many times. On the playground last week she was pouting because she wanted something I said no so she walked over and sat down to pout. A little older child came over to ask her what was wrong...she just closed her eyes and sat still waiting for her to leave.
Addison is such a sassy little girl! And I'm sure what you're thinking is, "Well, she gets it honestly." and she does. But I didn't really acquire this much sassyness until the last few years. And I think a lot of it is due to Nathan who embraces it and pampers me. haha It just amazes me to see Addison be so sassy naturally.
While on the same trip, we were all hanging out in the hotel room. Addison was walking around in my shoes with pretend bracelets on her arm and her new sunglasses being her cute and sassy self while Nathan was trying to get Addison to come eat. Nathan started laughing and said, "If we have another girl, you three are really going to be ruling the roost!" He offered her some more and she held up her hand and said, "No thanks daddy." with a sassy look and I just laughed and said, "Boy or Girl...I think you've already lost that battle."
I love that he loves it. Because deep down our man is the leader of our household and we respect that position. But his world consists of all things girly and he thinks it's great. Right down to the fact that he told me he thinks it would be fun to have 3 little girls. (Uhh Lord...I'm not sure I agree with that one...) ;)
