No more Bibs, Burp Clothes, or Baby food!!

It is safe to say that Addison only wears a bib when she eats. It's been over a couple of weeks since Addison has spit up. It's wonderful! For those of you who don't know, Addison used to spit up a ton! I had to do her laundry every two days just to keep up with the burp cloths and bibs and I have a lot of them.

The battle for feeding is over. When I started solids as five and half months it started really well. She progressed from cereal to other foods easily and then after Thanksgiving, she stopped eating. She would not open her mouth at all. It drove me nuts for weeks! So I quit trying for a week or two and tried back in January. It was going slow, but better. Addison always ate better for me in public and of course for my Grandmother. :) But then she stopped again a few weeks ago. I can't tell you how many jars of baby food I have wasted! So finally I decided to give up. I had tried table food in the past and she wouldn't eat it either, but finally she just started. Don't get me wrong, it's still slow and she wont eat everything I give her, but it is so much better than baby food! We went to lunch after church and she ate some green beans, bread, and chicken. For breakfast this morning she ate over half a banana. I had like 20 jars left and decided to give them to a friend. I was a littler nervous, but I thought it was better for the food to go to use instead of the trash. And it's turned out to be great. Just another example that my little peanut is growing up!

  1. I guess she's been trying to make a transition for a while and just couldn't figure out what that was! I'm glad she's finally doing it herself and growing up as all little ones will eventually.

  2. Sometimes our children lead us in life. I think miss Addison certainily has lead you guys since she has been born! Haha Jennifer I am afraid you are going to have you'r hands full with that young lady, because what she says GOES! haha!! The baby food is greatly appriciated though, because I have one little chunky monkey who is eating those jars as fast as I can open them!

  3. Aww, she is growing up! I dont think my Nephew really ate baby food either. He pretty much went straight to eating regular food. He would eat the little gerber snacks, but that's about it. I guess he didn't want to be labeled as a "baby" hehe!

  4. I seen a few babies that do not like baby food and just want to eat like us. That is great that she is eating again.
