A day at work with Dad

(He isn't being tied to anything, when Nathan isn't walking him, it stays on.)

Titus got to go to work with Nathan this week. He had been to visit, but this was special because it was all day. Nathan wants to start taking him about two days a week with him to work so he decided it was time to start training him now. He did great! Nathan said for a puppy he was perfect. He will have his own bed, bowls, and toys there for him when he goes. Not many jobs would allow you to take your dog to work but the tractor industry is pretty laid back. (Not to mention Nathan's office is really big and he is one of the "big guys" up there.)

We started a new training method. His puppy class still has two weeks, but honestly, I'm only going because we signed a contract with out breeder that we would take him to class and Titus has two friends he plays with every week. In his class they focus completely on praising your dog for being good and giving him a treat every time he does it. They don't want you to ever tell your dog no or use harsh tones. I think that is stupid! It doesn't make any sense in the "dog world" and it only creates a good actor. I want my dog to obey because he has to. (Anyways, I could talk forever on that because I feel so strongly...but I'll spare you.) So he has a new training collar and Nathan and I have started working with him this week. Just in three days, I am seeing a major change! I promise we aren't hurting him. I do not pop him and I no longer have to raise my voice. The collar itself is not painful. It also came with a set of leashes and a 6 hour video that has helped us to understand a LOT more about dogs and training. Titus still has a lot to learn, like no digging, but I have so much hope!

He is so smart!! He picks up on things so quickly. When we sit down to eat, I say, "We are eating." and he goes to lay on his bad. Last night, I didn't have to say a word. As soon as I sat down, he went straight to his bed. He has a great personality. No matter how big or small the dog he plays with, Titus is always the less dominate one. At the vet today he weighed 46.2 pounds!
