First taste of sweets

We waited until Addison's 2nd birthday for her to try sugar. We had every intent of having Weston wait until his as well. Then a few weeks ago I told Nathan that I wanted to do it before he started school. As a rule, the kids only drink water at snack time and eat healthy snacks. However, if it's a child's birthday or special occasion there are some sweets available. I didn't want all the children to get a treat and him not to so we let him at 22 months.

On Fridays we have pizza night. On the nights we order from a local place we also get their famous cookies. They are amazing!! Addison, Nathan, and I all love them. So we thought it would be fun for Weston to try them. We put a candle in it to make it special. He thought blowing out the candle was a lot of fun! I actually let him do it twice. Very cute. The cookies are big so we were going to allow him to eat a half if he wanted. (Addison only gets a half also.) He liked the first couple of bites and then he was done. He ate about a 1/4 of the cookie. I know holding off sugar for so long is a popular choice, but it was ours and I'm glad we stuck to it with both children.
