William-Weston is 4 months old! Time seems to be flying by this time. As last Saturday approached I was sad. Babies are considered newborns until they turn 4 months old and then they are infants. Knowing this is the last newborn I will ever had made me sad. (Lord please let this be my last newborn! haha) I think some people go through the newborn phase easier than I do and to be honest, I don't think I'm that good at it. But throughout the difficult parts it was much easier this time knowing that it was my last. As hard as it can be with a new baby because all you do is feed, change diapers, and pray for sleep...I'm going to miss it. He is growing up so fast! I love how small and cuddly newborns are and the sweetness. The first smiles and laughs are priceless! I probably would be more sad about him hitting this milestone this month if he hadn't been getting up more at night and refusing to nap longer than 45 minutes during the day. (Why oh why do my babies not take naps?! We were off to such a great start!)
What is Weston like at 4 months?
*He smiles all day long!
*He has found his voice and is very loud when he wakes up at night and squeals loudly during the day to be heard whether happy or sad.
*When a toy is placed in his hand he grasps it and can pass it from hand to the next.
*Wants to be sitting up and prefers to be standing on his legs.
*When daddy rolls cars on the floor, he follows them the whole time.
*Still wants to be swaddled.
*Likes to blow raspberries.
*Talks and babbles and makes an owl noise.
*Very ticklish!
*Knows his mama so well and is definitely a mama's boy.
*Loves his bath and likes to splash.
Today was his check up. He weighed 16lbs 4oz. and is 27in long! he weighed a few ounces less than I guessed but is taller than I thought. Weston is in the 75% for weight and 97% for height. Dr. Reams said he is really strong and even though he isn't rolling over he is certainly strong enough so that is the main thing and he should be doing it soon. He is right on target or past in all the other things. He was concerned with him still waking up about three times at night and not napping for me during the day, but that is more about my sanity than Weston's health. haha
Hey Jenn, I may not comment a lot, but I so enjoy your every-day kind of blogging. I had another friend ask me for my blog addy this week, prompting me to check back to the beginning of it, and I was thrilled to find that I started it in '06!
