Getting Better

School overall is getting much better for Addison. On the way to school we look for certain things. She loves spotting school buses! **Attention man walking small dog two weeks ago...please walk your dog again on the same path we drive! Addison has been asking for you on the way to and from school every day since.** She has started putting B in her backpack on her own and she is in a good mood right up until we walk in the classroom. Then she clings to me and starts to cry. We are working on it. I'm doing a lot better because she isn't being dragged from the house crying and holding onto me. And she seems to be doing a lot better not leaving me behind. It's a work in progress. her teacher says that it only lasts a minute and then she is great the rest of the day. That's what matters to me. Don't think I would keep taking her if she just cried the whole time. "Friend Jake" continues to be her special friend. Although there has been talk of Conner, Finton, and Trent. (still no girls get mentioned) She has told me that friend Jake pushes her on the swings. Monday when we got there and she started to cry, Jake walked up to her and handed her a hot-wheel. I was tucking her in tonight and told her in the morning we would go to school and she said, "Friend Jake gonna be there?" with a big smile. It's pretty cute, but a little scary since she is only 2! :)

Overall, Addison's attitude is doing a lot better. I think some of it is age for sure because we are still dealing with melt-downs and attitudes but nothing compared to what it was. I'm so thankful things have been better. I missed my sweet and easy going girl. It does make me nervous because I know another big adjustment is coming when Weston arrives but this shows me that with steady guidance, patience, extra cuddling, and firm love we will get past it eventually and my sweet girl will come back.
