1st Field Trip and Lots of details

At first Addison seemed to love school. It was a huge relief to me because I know a lot of kids who cry when they are left. As more and more time went on, Addison stopped liking school. She would start telling us before bed that she didn't want to go to school and she didn't like school. The mornings were a hassle to get her ready and then it got to where she was having to be dragged out the door screaming and crying. It broke my heart. She would say things like, "I no wanna go to school. I want to stay with mommy! Please! Mommy, mommy!" Clinging to me and having to be pulled off. It got harder for me to hear. Someone recommended finding out if there was a special friend that she liked and make a big deal about that and set up playdates outside of school. I thought that was a great idea.

On Wednesday, they were having their first field trip. It is C week and they were going to Chick-fil-a to eat a chicken biscuit. I decided to take the little of time I was allowed up that day to go on the trip. I arrived a few minutes early. Addison was so happy to see me at school because I never get to go. I got to watch them do a few of their songs and dance. It was so cute!! Addison was participating and kept saying, "Watch me mom!" She was excited about riding the school bus.

Addison and I buckled in and ready for a ride.

I kept an eye out for any friends that she liked. Turns out, she is kind of a loaner and shy like her mom. While other kids played together she didn't really talk to any of them. She couldn't tell me any of their names except "Jake". She thought Jake was funny and talked to him a tiny bit. (Makes friends easier with guys, again like her mom.) Here is a picture I took of them when I got them talking to one another. It's blurry because they were moving and laughing.

Since that day, things have gotten better. She still tells us randomly that she doesn't like school and isn't happy about going, but since then she hasn't been crying like before. Thank you Jesus! I think me getting to go and being apart really helped her. I'm going to try and pick her up this next week now that I'm allowed to be up most of the time. Maybe that will help her some more.
