About a month ago I had taught Addison to hold her nose and say "poop" every time she did. I was impressed because before that she didn't act like she even knew she was using the bathroom and I had no clue unless I checked. Then the new wore off and she stopped doing it after about a week or two. I was just thinking to myself yesterday that I hope Addison isn't one of the kids who are late to potty train. My personal goal would be by August, she would be three months over 2 and that is when she will hopefully start school. But really it isn't something I want to push, but rather encourage. I've seen potty training backfire too many times when it's pushed! (Please Lord...at least by 3.)
Today Addison and I were in the living room and I stood up and started walking towards her and noticed she was...doing her business. So I just walked away and did not say a word. I went into the kitchen. I heard Addison walk towards her room. All of the sudden she came running out and said, "Mommy!". She had a diaper in her hand!! I got so excited and made a big deal about it. We clapped and jumped up and down and said "yay!", "Good job Addison, mommy is so proud of you for bringing me a diaper when you pooped!" and yay some more. haha I don't expect this every time and I'm not going to start potty training yet. But this gives me real hope for the future! :)
I'm always a proud mommy. I'm sure it's pretty obvious in my blog, but I just had to share with you because I was so proud of my girl today!!
