First Date of 2010

Nathan said last year that we needed to go out on more dates. We decided to try one date a month. It sounded pretty easy but life got in the way, and of course with money being tighter, we just weren't able to do it as much as we wanted. So one of our new things is MAKING time for ourselves more. And that doesn't always mean going out and spending money. On New years eve we stayed home and had a wonderful time just the two of us. We believe for a healthy and happy marriage, you can't ever stop dating. When we got married, it was for life so we would much rather have a happy life than not! haha

Last night we went on our first date of the new year. My mother had blessed us with a gift card to BoneFish so we decided to do that and then go see a movie. Dinner was so yummy. We have been a few times, but last night was probably the best we have had from there. Nathan had been wanting to see the movie Avatar. Personally I wasn't super excited about it. I had watched a documentary on it and that got me interested in it. We ended up going all the way with it and spent $13.50 a ticket to see it in the IMAX theatre. AMAZING! If you're going to see it, I highly recommend seeing it in the imax if you can because the screen is HUGE and the 3D effects make it much more cool. I wouldn't say it was the best movie I've ever seen, but I was really glad I had an open mind. It was cool and we had a great time together.

This is Nathan and I before we left on our date...

And this is our silly picture of our imax glasses!

  1. We saw it at the IMAX also. We took Christmas money and saw a matinee with the fam after Charlie and I had pre-viewed it earlier in the week (imagine SIX tickets $$!!). I would have to agree it was the best movie I think I've ever seen. And I'm a movie buff. ; )

  2. Oh, and by the way, Charlie and I "dated" once a week for years on Sunday night after the kids were in bed. One of us would run out and drive through to bring dinner home for a quiet meal together without leaving the kids to a sitter. We called it our "cheeseburger date," and we did it for about 10 years. We've adjusted to the different schedules of life, and now have lunch out together on Fridays. Keep it up! It's important (and FUN!).
