Monday night Addison woke up about 3am screaming. I immediately went to her room! If she wakes up fussing, I let her work it out because I know that she has rolled too far from her bear and she will find it in just a minute. But she was really crying so I went to get her. I made her a bottle and she drank it all. When I burped her, she threw the WHOLE thing on me! That started the whole thing. Eventually, Addison and I slept in my bed and Nathan went to the guest room. I didn't sleep at all. I thought maybe it was just something she ate but yesterday she kept throwing up and started having diarrhea. (The same thing as 3 weeks ago and I was so upset!) At 7:30 this morning I took her temperature. She had a rectal temp of 103.1! So I called the doctor and they told me to bring her in. They confirmed it isn't the flu and it is the stomach virus. They are worried about her hydration and I have to offer her an ounce of breastmilk every 30 minutes to try and get her to keep it down. (Thank the Lord I had some saved!) If she does not get hydrated by this afternoon, I have to take her in for an IV. I do not want to do that!! So I am doing all that I can to help her.
She only had one cold before this virus and the fact that she has now gotten it for the second time, makes me so upset. She has no energy at all. I am praying for a quick turn a round and believe God she will be better soon. I am very worried that I will get it again and I really don't want to. It is so hard seeing her like this. In the doctor's office she could hardly stay awake. This is a picture of her.
Stay strong, Jennifer. Before you know it, she'll be up and about again. I know it's so hard to see your child sick, but you've got a long way to go b/c it's going to happen a lot more. :( Give her some lovin' from us!
