Few short weeks with my baby...

This "baby" will be 2 in less than a month!! I really have a hard time wrapping my brain around that. He's so much apart of my life, my day, and my nights that it's hard to remember what it was like before he was here. He was 30.2 on the scale at home a couple weeks ago and yesterday I measured him at 36" (3 feet tall!) He fills out a size 8 shoe but all the ones I'm ordering now are a size 9 so he will have a little room to grow since he seems to never stop! haha I really don't want him to be older. I LOVE the stage that he is at. On one hand it will be nice to not see strangers look at me confused when I say he is a year and a half and not 3... *wink*

I've forgotten to mention in previous posts but he is playing a lot of make believe. He pretends he is a puppy and likes to drink water and eat food from your hand, fetch, take naps, and pant a lot. He loves to pretend he is going on a trip and goes to the "cold store" (the healthy grocery store as Addison calls it) and picks up chicken, grapes, yogurt, and chips to eat. He's saying a lot of two word phases and pieces longer sentences together if you help him through it. He will play with dolls or dinosaurs and I'm amazed at how much he acts out between the characters of dads, moms, Addison's, papas, and friends. (so cute!) He figured out the code word for Nathan that Addison and I used and now refers to Nathan as "That Guy". He likes to do tricks and jumps off things and lands on both feet most of the time. He's learned a lot of his colors recently. He plays hide and go seek with Addison and Simon says. Tries to play "I spy" but hasn't quite got the hang of that one.

I'll save more for his two year old post after his check up but wanted to write down now so I could look back on it. I can't believe how much he has grown up the past few weeks, how much he understands, and his vocabulary is growing so fast. Just this week he added... lady bug, coconut, myself, cold store, Scrum, that way, no fair, "Giraffe sing", "Funny to me" and I know there is more I'm not thinking of.

Oh William, how I wish you could stay my one year old for a very long time!!
