One afternoon Weston fell head first coming down our brick steps in the garage. He wasn't even supposed to be trying to come down them because he was sitting down while I set up the stroller at the bottom of the steps. It happened so fast and I couldn't catch him in time. He scrapped up his neck and forehead. I was so scared as I looked him over because it could have been a lot worse!
The kid falls and busts his knees on a daily basis almost. This knee has had a scrab for about two weeks because he keeps re injuring it.
A few days ago he was playing at the table with Addison and I was watching them from the living room. I looked down at my phone and looked back up and he was standing on top of the table swinging the chandelier!
Another time Addison was at school and Weston and I were in the living room. I was folding laundry on the couch and he was watching a show. He stood up and I told him to sit down. Instead of sitting down he leaped off the side of the couch falling head first again on the toy basket before falling to the ground. I was standing right there! Again tried to catch him but since I was on the opposite end of the couch I could not catch him in time.
I know a lot of it is because he is a boy and this is personality. I know I'm still a great mother. It just bothers me that these things keep happening. I told Nathan if someone else was watching him and I came home and saw him all scrapped up I would think they weren't paying attention. We've already been the doctor because I had thought he broke his leg. I will not be surprised if we end up there a few more times as he grows up. haha I just pray it is never anything serious!
Don't feel bad!!! you are a fantastic mother. Lucy does the same thing every week, and she's a girl, and I am always literally standing right next to her also. One day, in just one trip to the park while I was standing with her, she fell down some concrete steps and then fell out of a plastic playset onto her head. I kept telling people, "I was right there!!!" LOL. It's bound to happen with kids.
