HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Today is the first day of 2012 and also my first blog of the year. Like most I have goals and hopes for this year. I'm on the bandwagon with the number one resolution to have a healthier life style with exercise and loosing a couple of pounds. I want my husband and I to continue to strengthen our marriage, be a better wife & mother, finish some projects I've started and start new ones. The list goes on. I pray this year is filled with God's blessing on my family, that our adoption moves forward towards completion. I pray our family continues to move forward with a secure future and that at the end of the year we are all happy and healthy.
As I thought about writing a list of "My hopes and Intentions" and posting it on here, I kept hearing the Holy Spirit whisper this scripture. Matthew 6:33 "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need." I think this is my scripture theme for this year. I have a lot of wants and some needs for 2012, but my greatest desire is to DESIRE God. To grow a PERSONAL relationship with him deeper than ever before. I whole heartily believe in God and have asked Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of my life, but I feel I lack the personal part. I want to focus on my daily walk with Christ and becoming more of the woman he's called me to be. To grow so close to God that my husband and children will see Christ through me. I want to read through my Bible. (Something I've never come close to doing in one year.) This scripture says that if I focus my life on seeking him, all the rest will fall into place! Sounds easy enough, right?
To my readers: I pray this year brings you great Joy. That you also grow closer to God, that your family is healthy, that you prosper in what you set out to do, that you take time to appreciate the small things in life that make everyday living beautiful, and that you meet whatever goals you set for yourself.
Since you are a busy momma, you might enjoy knowing there is a podcast you can download via ITune onto your IPhone or IPod that reads through the Bible in a year.
