Several months ago Nathan came up with the idea for us to host a meet and greet. I kept saying that I wish we knew our neighbors and he said this was my chance. I am so shy and didn't think anyone would come. haha But he kept bringing up the idea so I told him when it warmed up we would give it a try. I think it's so sad to live next to people for over a year now and not know their names or anything about them. How are we supposed to love our neighbors if we don't even know who they are?? So...with a little help from two other ladies in the neighborhood, we did it. I put an invitation in each of the mailboxes in our subdivision. We bought lots of pizzas for everyone, drinks, and different kinds of cookies for dessert! Not everyone came, but at least half! I had no idea there were so many children in the area either. Addison might even have a few future play dates! :)
(Addison watching Mommy set up before everyone came. notice her bow is in place and she is clean...this will change!)

(Group shot - not everyone was here yet.)

(Sawyer checking out Addison's shoes.)

(All Addison wanted to do was walk and she wasn't happy if she couldn't. So Nathan and I took turns walking with her. Is this picture so sweet!?!)

(Finally we got smart and got her walker. She blazed a trail! She wiped out several times because she was RUNNING, but she would get right back up and go again. Her poor knees are all scraped up and she never cried once. - Lisa, Nathan said it reminded him of Noah. haha)

(Ty & Adison. He is only two weeks older than her.)

(Another group shot.)

Looks like ya'll had fun! I wish we could do something like that..except most of our neighbors are college students and they come and go every semester..haha! We know when we have our house built we want to have a big new home party!

T'was such a great turnout... I'm already excited for our next one. Thank you very much for everything. We'll have to hang out again soon!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! We are doing a study called "Becoming a Contagious Christian" at the church right now. They talk about doing things just like what you did. YOu got out of your comfort zone and met some great people.
