Here lately Addison and I have been having lots of "Talks". Often times these are in the car. It seems like the best place for us right now because we are in the car every day and there isn't anything else to do but talk. There are also times we talk while eating lunch or playing. Addison loves it when I ask if her she wants to talk. During these talks we ask each other questions (mostly I do the asking), talk about more serious topics like the real meaning of Christmas or children who don't have pajamas, we talk about kids in her class and nice or ugly things they've done, and if Jesus has a car. Addison likes to answer my questions and I love to hear how her mind works. During these talks I try and talk to her like she is a little older than she is and I really get to know her or share things. I think that's why she likes them so much. It's me REALLY connecting to her...and let's face it, she's a girl who likes to talk! I may not get to hear many songs on the radio, but between the constant interruptions of her talking anyways I never really heard that many to begin with. *wink, wink*
Addison also LOVES to play pretend! She likes to pretend she's a baby and a dog. She likes to play shop where she makes pretend stuff for us like food or balloons. She loves it when we take on characters and make up names. I'd venture to say that 85% at least of her playing is pretend. Right now she is sitting at the kitchen table with her Mr. Potato Head set and talking with them. So cute! I love that she has a vivid imagination. At times it can be hard because she also tells pretend stories a lot and it confuses some people because she will tell them things like, "My Nana took me to the pet shop to by a puppy." Sounds perfectly reasonable to someone who doesn't know that she did not get a new puppy nor does she have anyone in her life that she refers to as Nana. :)
