Big Boy Bath & Sleep??

We made it almost 7 months with Weston bathing in the sink! He's been grabbing at stuff for a long time, but he just keeps getting stronger and better at it. Bath time was getting too difficult. He was grabbing everything in sight, splashing everywhere, and trying to eat the faucet. I loved doing it over the sink so I didn't have to lean over, but 6 1/2 months is a good run. haha The first night I put his tub in the big tub. Last night I just skipped the baby tub all together and he was in the big tub. He LOVES playing with the toys! He seems to really like just sitting in the water and playing so hopefully this will go well on vacation when I take his baby pool. :)

Here he is having a blast! He was just so excited!!

As Addison would say "Mom I'm so exciting to take a bath!" haha

Dare I tell you? Weston has been sleeping so much better!! Naps are kind of hit or miss, but they have been a lot better. I've been letting him nap in our bed in the afternoon. Some days it doesn't go as well and other days it's amazing. One day he slept for 3 hours!! (of course that was the day I scheduled a play date and he missed almost the whole thing!) If I have him in his bed or in the swing it's anywhere from 20-30 minutes. In our bed he sleeps anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 hours on a regular basis. Do I love him napping in our bed? No. Do I like that I have to lay there for a couple of minutes and help him to sleep? Not really. Do I like having to move the monitor back and forth every day? No. Do I like surrounding my son with pillows and watching the monitor like I hawk and rushing to him as soon as he wakes up? No. But I'm letting go of those things! I LOVE that he is sleeping better and actually napping! Usually he takes two cat naps in the swing and then one longer nap in the bed each day. Today I've put him down in our bed for the morning nap too so we'll see how it goes.

If his napping in my bed was making it harder at night, I would be more inclined to stop. But he has been sleeping so much better at night too!! It's like this past week everything I've been working for and all the things I've been practicing from the No Cry Sleep Solution have clicked! Here are examples from the past few nights...
Night 1: Bed 7:45...up about 1 to nurse...slept until 7.
Night 2: Bed 7:45...........5:50, nursed....slept until 7:30.
Night 3: Bed at 8...11:30 to nurse....5:30 to nurse...up at 7:15
Night 4: Bed 8:30 (ran late because of parade)..........6:36! Up for the day :)

So you see, this is great in my book!! The night before these four he was up 3 times. Each night I'm nervous when I put him down now because I want for it to continue and I'm scared he will regress, but as Nathan always tells me, we can't live in fear! It has been a long road getting to this point. But I'm so thankful that a friend recommended that book and that I chose that route. No tears, no listening to my baby cry out to me only to fall asleep out of exhaustion and having abandoned hope that I would come. Not the easiest rode sleep-wise, but it made me feel better doing it for sure! And this proves it does work. I haven't been sleeping as great because I'm so used to waking up every few hours and so I naturally wake up and have trouble going back to sleep at times or keep checking the monitor. But each night gets better for me too!
