Trip started a little rough. Nathan was out of town so he was going to be meeting us down there. I had less than 5 hours of sleep the night before and spent all morning running around trying to get us ready to hit the road. My GPS was trying to take us way out of the way so Nathan messaged me directions. About an hour into the trip, my phone landed in a cup of ice water and was in there for at least ten minutes before I realized. So not only had I lost my directions, I had no way to call Nathan. I borrowed a stranger's phone to call Nathan and tell him about it but he didn't answer so I ended up going on. I had to follow my gps so it took a long time. I stopped a few times and poor Addison had a small accident. She told me she had to potty but it was probably 15 minutes before I got to the nearest exit with a bathroom and got inside. Couldn't blame her! Finally we made it. It took 6 hours and Addison slept 20 minutes the whole trip! By the time Nathan got there we decided to go out to dinner even though it was late and the kids were tired. Bad idea. Addison and Weston both cried all the way while looking for somewhere to eat. Nathan was frustrated and was short with me and the kids so we argued and ended up going back to the room without eating. Hadn't seen Nathan in three days so that wasn't how I wanted to start our trip! We put the kids to bed and ordered room service. After some much needed sleep we woke up better. Nathan left early and was gone all day. The kids and I just hung out in the room and went to the play ground later. That night we went to the Cheesecake Factory and it was so good!! We got dessert to go and then came home and put the kids to bed and ate our cheesecake while watching tv. The next day Nathan left early again and the kids and I also just hung out at the apartment and then we decided to take a walk. We met Nathan for dinner around 6:30. Weston and I didn't stay long because he had barely slept all day and was really fussy. The next morning we got up and headed home. Thankfully the car ride went a lot smoother! We saved some time by going Nathan's way. Weston rode with me and Addison went with Nathan.
It was nice to get away. The cheesecake was amazing. Other than that, it really wasn't that great. It was too cold to go swimming. Nathan usually has at least one day where is isn't gone so long and can spend with the family but this time he was busy from beginning to end. I really hope we can go again in a few months when Weston is a little older and we can swim! Nathan and I agreed that next time we would pay our way to stay a couple more days after the auction so that we could make it more of a vacation. Hang out by the pool and hopefully do some things in Orlando.
Here are some pictures....
Addison looks so grown up in some of those pictures!!! And Weston just gets bigger and bigger every day. They are so cute.
