This will be all about alcohol...

I started drinking when I was 15...yeah those "preachers kids". haha I drank behind my parents back of course but they aren't stupid people. And then when I graduated highschool of course that night they KNEW I would be drinking so my dad finally had a talk with me about it and he said, "Jen we know you drink and that you're going to drink. Don't get in trouble with the law, drive after drinking, or allow yourself to be taken advantage of by any young man." haha So that began my openness of drinking I guess because it was always a secret before then. At 17 I started college and was drinking in the bar. Before college I would say I drank a little bit...during college I drank a lot bit! Nathan was the president of the fraternity I hung out with so with that came a lot of drinking because everyone I spent any time with drank. I later got a fake ID and could drink anywhere. After I moved to Conyers it really slowed down. Which is good because it needed too. :)

I found out I was pregnant with Addison 2 days before my 21st birthday. Kinda a bummer because we had plans to go out. We still went out, but it sure wasn't what I had thought for years it would be like. I took two sips of a beer at midnight. But after that it didn't bother me. Like I just explained, I drank so much before actually turning 21 that I didn't care. I was just so happy to be having a baby. After she was born I still didn't drink because I was pumping. Some people can drink when nursing but if I just had one glass of wine my supply was down for days and it wasn't worth it. So by the time I actually drank more than one it had been about 19 months! I was a cheap date for a while. haha Nathan and I don't drink during the week unless it's a special occasion. We drink on the weekends and it isn't more than a couple. Every once and a while if we are going out with friends or ourselves out of town without Addison we will cut loose. We have changed for a few reasons.

BUT this pregnancy has been so different! I think about drinking almost EVERY day! Apparent Baby B remembers the weekend he/she was conceived and hasn't forgotten the champagne and margaritas! We don't normally have much liquor in the house except that used for margaritas but I may have to keep that locked when Baby B gets older! Some days I want a margarita so badly I could cry. Isn't that sad? I promise I'm not a drunk. This baby just wants alcohol!!

  1. Girl! I PRAY that when I get pregnant I will suddenly hate the taste of alcohol. I agree, I am not drunk, but I do like to have a glass at least once a week, or sometimes I just crave a good margarita. I just can't imagine not being able to for 9 plus months. I guess that's the price you pay for kids. I've heard you can have a glass of wine, that it doesn't hurt the baby. I'm not much of a red wine drinker, but I guess better be if that is all I will be allowed to drink..Praying the rest of these months go by quickly, or your urges go away!
