September 29th...was my son's birthday. (*I'm not winning any blogging awards this year. In fact I don't think I'll deserve any awards this year because I constantly feel behind but... I'm trying again.)
My sugar boy turned 2!! I made cupcakes and took it to his school for a little party and he loved that! Then we had a birthday party for him at the house. He had so much fun. It was dinosaur themed and included food for the Herbivores, Carnivores, and "Dessertivores".
Birthday Pictures...
At Weston's check up he was 31.3 lbs (80%) and 37 inches (100%+). I keep looking at him thinking he is so much bigger than Addison but her stats were almost identical to his! It's funny how different they can be. When Addison turned two, Nathan and I took Addison to the movies for the first time. I wouldn't think of doing that with him yet. When she was 18 months, we transitioned her to a toddler bed and then a couple weeks after she turned two she was sleeping in a queen size bed with a guard rail! Weston is still in his crib. He has made no attempt to climb out of it and I like that he is safe and in one spot. Addison would sit in her bed and call out to us when she woke up and I know Weston would not stay put so for the time being, he will stay there a little longer. haha This kid is just too darn cute for words! I prayed and prayed when I was pregnant that he would be a happy boy and he is so happy! Always smiling and even when he is "bad" he is still about half a second away from a smile. Constant twinkle in his eye. Still just as sweet and cuddly as he can be. Always giving kisses and hugs and melts my heart when he says, "I Lub you mommy!" (Lub=Love)
His vocabulary is really growing! He is saying real sentences. Sometimes slowly put together and it's funny how some words he can say so clearly like: Zucchini but his version of Thank you is still hard to understand. He still surprises me because I feel like he understood so much more than we realized because he was slower to talk. Like yesterday we saw a blow up Santa and pointed and said, "Christ-mas-Clause!"
Weston adores his sister. He wants to do anything she does and he doesn't like it if she isn't around. He still calls her "Son" which we've started thinking is a really cute nick name. He still LOVES tractors, trucks, and pretty much anything with a motor. Still likes to cuddle in the middle of the night and is probably going to nurse forever. *wink* I quit letting him nurse in the middle of the night and now it's only early in the morning and right before bed. Even after two months, he still asks for it EVERY nap time, and EVERY time he wakes up in the middle of the night. Thankfully he gets over it quickly when I say no. This is the beginning stages of weaning for us. He still takes a pretty good nap every. Usually about an hour and a half, but sometimes as much as two and a half.
He is still doing well in school and I can tell he is learning things. His favorite thing to draw are Big "O"s and little "O"s. I think orange is his favorite color still. He can identify most of his colors pretty well and yet when he sees something green he still says, "Green Tractor". hehe
So very blessed by my little baby. Can't believe he's older than 2 already because it seems like just a little while ago he was born! I'm so thankful God chose me to be his mama!
This makes my heart happy to read :)
